The HSI plunged 404 pts or 1.64% to open at 24,251; the HSCEI sank 155 pts or 1.79% to 8,503; and the HSTI likewise opened low by 111 pts or 1.95% to 5,592.

HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK) eroded 2.4% to $52.

COSCO SHIP HOLD (01919.HK) slumped 3% to $13.58.
