Hong Kong stocks rise 0.1%

Dow Jones Newswires ·  Dec 8, 2021 02:01  · Markets

Hong Kong shares are slightly higher in morning trade as the market continues to pick up following days of losses. The benchmark $Hang Seng Index(800000.HK)$ is up 0.1% at 24005.64. It closed 2.7% higher on Tuesday. Property developers lead the morning gains, as investor concerns over the sector's liquidity eases. Sentiment is being further supported by the Chinese government's comments that it will support the real-estate industry's healthy development, KGI Securities says. $LONGFOR GROUP(00960.HK)$ grows 3.1% and $China Overseas Land & Investment(00688.HK) adds 1.1%. Tech stocks also rebound, following gains in the U.S. market overnight.
