If the black rainstorm warning signal is lifted after 9am, morning trading in Hong Kong stocks will be cancelled.

If it is lifted from 11:00 to 11:30, trading begins at 1: 30 p.m.; if it is lifted from 11:30 to 12:00, trading begins at 2 p.m.; after 12:00, the market is closed for the whole day.

In the latest news, the Hong Kong Observatory issued the Red rainstorm warning signal at 11:05According to the regulations of the HKEx, if the Black rainstorm warning is lifted from 11:00 to 11:30, the market will open at 1:30.

News on June 28, the Hong Kong Observatory issued a special report on the Black rainstorm warning signal at 08:20: the rainstorm warning signal is now black, indicating that torrential rains exceeding 70mm per hour have been recorded or expected in many parts of Hong Kong. and the rain is likely to continue.

As of 9 am, the black rainstorm warning has not been lifted, and the opening of Hong Kong stocks in early trading will be delayed. If it is cancelled after 9: 00 a. M., morning trading in Hong Kong stocks will be cancelled. If it is lifted from 11:00 to 11:30, trading begins at 1: 30 p.m.; if it is lifted from 11:30 to 12:00, trading begins at 2 p.m.; after 12:00, the market is closed for the whole day.

Due to the frequent occurrence of typhoons and other weather, the Hong Kong market has repeatedly delayed trading due to weather factors. Therefore, the HKEx has also taken relatively sound measures to deal with it.

  • On August 19, 2020, the Hong Kong stock market was closed in the morning and the Hong Kong Observatory issued the No. 3 strong Wind signal at 11:10 on the 19th. HKEx subsequently announced that the afternoon trading session would begin at 13: 30.

  • On August 23, 2017, the HKEx announced in the morning that as Typhoon signal No. 8 had been issued by the Hong Kong Observatory, the morning trading hours of the securities market (including the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Connect) and derivatives market would be delayed.

  • On October 21, 2016, the HKEx said that as Typhoon signal No. 8 had been issued by the Hong Kong Observatory, the morning trading hours of the securities market (including Shanghai Stock Connect) and derivatives market would be delayed.

  • On August 2, 2016, the HKEx announced that the typhoon signal warning No. 8 is still in force, and the morning trading hours of the securities market (including Shanghai Stock Connect) and derivatives market will be delayed.

  • On September 16, 2014, the HKEx announced that the opening of the securities and derivatives market would be delayed in the morning trading session after the Hong Kong Observatory issued the No. 8 storm signal for Typhoon Seagull.

  • In 2013, similar actions were taken several times because of typhoons and torrential rains.
