The company reported adjusted EPS $2.51, compared with $2.09 from a year earlier and the average estimate of $2.44, according to Bloomberg consensus.

Earnings per share reached $2.29 compared with $2.03 a year ago. Payment volume for the quarter totaled $3.17 trillion, up7.4% from a year ago. The average estimate called for $3.2 trillion.
