On April 12, the China Banking Insurance Regulatory Commission announced the results of the 2022 insurance companies' solvency risk management assessment. In 2022, the Banking Insurance Regulatory Commission carried out Solvency Risk Management Requirements and Assessment (SARMRA) on-site assessments for 70 insurance companies. Overall, 70 companies scored an average score of 77.44 points, up 1.41 points from the previous assessment. Four group companies, People's Insurance Group, Taibao Group, Ping An Insurance Group, and China United Group, were evaluated for the first time. Of the remaining 66 companies, 40 increased their ratings, accounting for 60.6%; 26 companies declined in ratings, accounting for 39.4%. Looking at the industry, the average score of the insurance group was 80.37, and the average score of industrial insurance companies, life insurance companies, and reinsurance companies was 74.89 points, 78.7 points, and 79.73 points respectively, up 2.56 points, 0.1 points, and 1.11 points respectively from the previous assessment. The evaluation results show that insurance companies have continuously strengthened their risk management awareness, strengthened their main responsibility for risk management, and made continuous progress in risk management. Insurance companies have generally set up a relatively complete risk management structure and formulated a more comprehensive risk management system; most companies' risk management working mechanisms are reasonable, and their risk appetite systems are in line with their own circumstances.
