The Italian National Electric Company (Enel) announced on April 7 that its Peruvian subsidiary has signed an agreement with China Southern Power Grid International (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. to sell all of the shares of Enel's two Peruvian subsidiaries that provide power distribution services and advanced energy services. The total cost was approximately $2.9 billion. The corporate value of these assets is estimated to be around $4 billion. The deal is part of Enel Group's asset streamlining plan announced in November last year. It is expected to reduce the group's consolidated net debt by around 3.1 billion euros in 2023 and have a positive impact on the net revenue reported in 2023 by around 500 million euros. Enel's current strategy is to focus on six core countries: Italy, Spain, the United States, Brazil, Chile, and Colombia. (Interface News)
